Beginning Kum Nye: Body of Knowledge: Relaxation and Vitality (KNR116)
This is the first semester of a yearlong introduction to Kum Nye Tibetan yoga, a gentle healing system based on ancient Eastern medical and meditative traditions. It has been adapted by Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku for the West in Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga: A Complete Guide to Health and Wellbeing. This fall we learn to listen to our bodies, opening our senses and touching our feelings directly. We explore how we can integrate body and mind in all our activities, promoting relaxation that has a vital and lasting quality. Anyone who wants to learn Kum Nye systematically or who wishes to develop relaxation to prepare for or support a meditation practice is encouraged to start here.
This course is required for those who are enrolled in Kum Nye Teacher Training Program; teacher training students can take either section, depending on what fits their schedule and their time zone. This series may be taken in any sequence and on a drop in basis for those not in the Teacher training.
