Swift Protection: The Practice of Tara (DHS417)

Green Tara responds swiftly to protect beings from fearsome obstacles, while White Tara counteracts illnesses and is associated with long life. We can call on Tara in all her many aspects through her most famous prayer, the Twenty-One Praises of Tara, which brings immediate blessings and protection, and has been the central practice of innumerable realized masters of Tibetan Buddhism.

Jetsun Tara, Mother of all the Victorious Ones, has an enlightened mission to rescue living beings from falling into samsara and swiftly lead them to complete and perfect liberation. This workshop will serve as an introduction to her qualities with practice instructions on her visualization. Invoking Tara with deep and urgent devotion may enrich our dharma practice, while also expanding well-being and our sense of wonder.
