Lotus Body, Part 1: The Curious Relationship Between Bodies and Space
The Lotus Trilogy 2 Year Program Begins at Dharma College
To understand how our reality is constructed is to understand that there are ways of being that may be more fruitful than those we have been living.
– Tarthang Tulku, Introduction to Lotus Trilogy, xxiv
Three defining aspects of being human—body, language, and mind—are the vehicles for new knowledge and potent self-care in this core Dharma College program. Immersing ourselves in The Lotus Trilogy, we connect with our inner being. We ask what we need to live a satisfying, meaningful life freed from self-imposed isolation. We take an honest look at our situation and begin to awaken to openness and ease. Vital and challenging, playful and joyous, The Lotus Trilogy activates mindful engagement: armchair theorizing falls away as we explore our experience. We embody what we learn.
As we journey together, we uncover skillful, intrinsic knowledge that reveals a new path. Radical inquiry stimulates wisdom: dynamic exploration and dialogue are our tools; curiosity and kindness nourish and sustain us as we upend assumptions about body, language and mind.
The Lotus Trilogy presents the latest and most comprehensive teaching in Tarthang Tulku’s Understanding Self and Mind series. It features wide-ranging and innovative approaches to “knowledge-ability”–the potential inherent within each of us to unfold inner wisdom. The activities based on these books are found nowhere else in the curriculum of Dharma College.
The two-year Lotus Trilogy program will be taught by senior instructor Abbe Blum assisted by Dr. Bob Dozor and Dr. Richard Kingsland. Please join us for these upcoming spring courses, open to all:
