Beyond Hope and Fear: Invoking the Vajra Guru (DHS426)

Guru Padmasambhava, the Lotus-Born Vajra Guru, overwhelms appearances with his brilliance. He is associated with pacifying strong energies and transforming obstacles in a direct, powerful, and skillful way. As one of the founding fathers of Tibetan Buddhism in the eighth century and what became known as the Nyingma tradition, this “second Buddha” masterfully overcame all negative forces to establish the path of enlightenment in Tibet. In this workshop, you will be introduced to his manifestations, mantra, and visualization. Padmasambhava’s practices and teachings are considered especially effective for the Kaliyuga, this age of instability and degeneration. Practicing the Vajra Guru mantra can help dispel mental anguish, bringing forth peace of mind; together, we can call on him to awaken the heart of wisdom and compassion within, to strengthen our inner goodness, and for the power to act effectively on behalf of all beings.
