Working together, Light of Buddhadharma Foundation and Sarnath International Nyingma Institute launched a fundraising campaign that supplied a month’s supply of food to one hundred families and 30 Buddhist monasteries near Bodh Gaya, India, site of the Buddha’s enlightenment. The goal was met within 24 hours of the campaign’s launch.
They are now looking to support a community of children and families in Sarnath. The Sarnath International Nyingma Institute will carry forward the distribution of food together with trusted local school partners, with the goal of reaching the most vulnerable. They hope to raise additional funds over the coming two weeks to support over 200 families. Included in this offering will be special prayers done by the monastics of the Sarnath International Nyingma Institute. This happens to be in the Buddhist month of May for Vesak.
The goal is to raise a further $8,000 which will support offerings for one month (May). For a forty dollar donation, you can help secure the food for an entire family for one month!
